18:00 What's new in JDK 20? by Ludvig Janiuk and David Simms
JDK 20 reached General Availability on 21 March 2023. This release includes seven JEPs, all in various stages of incubation and preview, along with hundreds of smaller enhancements and thousands of bug fixes. In this talk we will try to cover the major improvements delivered in JDK 20, as well as place them in a context of step-by-step improvement over the JDK releases, and what's coming next.Since the speakers are both Virtual Machine engineers, we will be most able to go deep on that area, but we will try to cover the whole release well enough.

Ludvig Janiuk is a JVM Sustaining Engineer in the Java Platform Group at Oracle. His work involves making sure the "update releases" of Java - that's JDK 8, 11, 17, anything except the mainline - remain stable and useful as long as they are supported.
David Simms is a JVM Engineer in the Java Platform Group at Oracle. He manage Oracle's Stockholm JVM Engineering office, and is heavily involved in the Valhalla OpenJDK project.

19:00 After the talk, those who want to mingle and have a drink can follow us to a pub nearby!
